Moffat Lightweight Tartan is a classic grey-based tartan with bold black checks. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
All Moffatts are descendants of an extremely ancient Border family. The oldest recorded ancestor is and law, alias Allan, Grant who came to Scotland from Norway at some time in the 10th century. The family is pre-Conquest in origin and became ancient vassals of the Annan’s who held the Lordship of Annandale before the days of the Bruces.
