Macrae Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a colorful orange-based tartan with green and blue overchecks.
Kintail is the home of the Macrae’s and is where they migrated in the 14th century. The Macrae’s were Jacobite’s and served the Royal Stuarts faithfully and well. Duncan Macrae, 5th of Kintail, received the lands of Invaginate about 1557. At the Battle of Sheriff Muir, in 1715, their bravery was outstanding and many of the leading men were killed.
