MacMillan Old Weathered Lightweight Tartan is a brown-based tartan with shades of pink and yellow. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
There were Macmillan’s in Lochaber in the 12th century, but they later migrated to Lowers, in Perthshire. Clan MacMillan was in Knap dale, in Argyll, and Galloway. The Knap dale family gained importance and was considered the chief branch. Another prominent family was Dunmore. The Galloway Macmillan’s were noted Covenanters. The chiefship of the clan is now in the Lag Algarve branch.
