Mackellar Weathered Tartan Fabric is a gentle grey-based tartan with shades of yellow and khaki. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
The Mackellar are a sept of the Clan Campbell and the surname is thought to be derived from the Latin “Hilarious.” From 1470, the Mackellar owned the lands of Adare in Glossary. The tartan is of modern origin and can be traced back to about 1930.
