MacQueen Modern Lightweight Tartan is a dark red-based tartan with a black check. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
Of West Highland origin, the MacQueen’s appear to have associated themselves with the Clan Donald. Several Hebridean MacQueen’s settled in Strathearn and became septs of Clan Chattan. They possessed Corry burgh in the 16th century and appear to have been quite strong at this time. Robert McQueen, the well-known lawyer, who became Lord Braxfield, belonged to a Lanarkshire family of MacQueen’s.
