Description
MacLaren Weathered Heavyweight Tartan is a gentle brown-based tart am with shades of grey and a yellow overcheck.
The MacLaren’s are recorded as owning lands in Balquhidder in the 12th century. They also possessed the Island of Tiree. They fought at the battles of Sauchie burn, Flodden, and Pinkie and were loyal to the Royal Stewarts. They were a warlike clan and engaged in feuds with other clans, many of them died in the Battle of Culloden.
